WEB Wind Energy Ltd plans to build on their premises in Pfaffenschlag a brand new major components hall, covering more than 2,000 m² and expand its office building. The total construction cost 2.5 million Euros.
Although the development of wind energy in Lower Austria and especially in the forest quarter has been stopped, WEB Wind Energy Ltd has decided, nevertheless to invest further at its central site in Pfaffenschlag. Due to the increasing international growth of W.E.B, office space at its headquarters is becoming extremely tight. The strategy of W.E.B is to carry out their own repairs in the components area, thus requiring more storage and workshops space to ensure the repairs can be performed to the highest quality.
The decision for headquarters
"With this investment, we can kill two birds with one stone: on the one hand, we can safeguard our WEB-operating model and internationally with lasting effect, on the other hand, we also obtain the space needed resulting from the growth at its headquarters," said Chief Technology Officer Frank Dumeier. Founder and CEO Andreas Dangl adds: "I am delighted that the decision has been made for our headquarters. After the negative attitude to wind energy, especially in the forest quarter, there were other considerations. Being passionate about the forest quarter, we are looking forward to expanding, developing, especially in sustainable growth, and offering people opportunities. However, the planned maximum variation certainly was not realised and the dedication stop resulted in the removal of the planned wind energy in the forest quarter. In the medium term 50 to 100 new jobs have therefore been created in our foreign subsidiaries and not in the forest quarter.”
Construction scheduled for early April
The hall will house workshops and a sufficiently large stock of parts. The major new components place, along with the assembly and testing area will be located in the upper hall. The ground breaking ceremony took place on 19.3. at the W.E.B premises in Pfaffenschlag.
