With the commissioning of the turbines in Nine Mile River, phase II construction in Nova Scotia is complete. WEB now has 14 turbines in operation with a total of 28 MW in the grid.
Just in time for the first quarter of 2015, the last two turbines of the second phase in Nova Scotia went to the grid. At Nine Mile River 2 Vestas V-100 went into operation. WEB with their partner Scotian Windfields have a total of 14 wind turbines with a total capacity of 28 MW.
"With this number of turbine we have now reached the critical size in the region of Nova Scotia, in order to guarantee favourable maintenance and to ensure the turbines availability," said the satisfied Canadian manager Reinhard Kainz.
"The completion of Phase II is another milestone for our collaboration with Scotian Windfields. The partnership works great, so we are aggressively pursuing continued growth with our proven joint team in Canada," WEB CEO Dr. Frank Dumeier is optimistic in the Canadian future. We are already working hard on the implementation of "Phase III". Another 12 MW turbines must be ordered, in order to be able to connect to the grid from mid-2016. The first construction is scheduled for the 2nd half of 2015.
