66 per cent vote for wind power
On 23 November the population of the district of Traismauer voted in a referendum regarding the planned W.E.B wind park in their area. Turnout amounted to 45 per cent with 1,601 people (65.7 per cent) answering YES to the question: “Should the Traismauer urban district council redesignate parts of the land in its area as a zone suitable for wind power, in order that a maximum of five wind power plants (turbines) can be erected by a wind energy company?”
W.E.B is delighted by this positive result, as it shows that the local people are in favour of the further expansion of wind power in Lower Austria. The vote also strengthens our resolve with regard to our other planned projects.
