WEB Windenergie AG plans and operates power stations on the basis of renewable energies, with a special focus on wind power.

For over a decade, the company has been using the inexhaustible power of the wind to produce valuable eco-electricity and its 176 power plants have a total capacity of 265 MW.

In addition to Austria, the company is also active in Germany, France, Italy and the Czech Republic.

WEB Windenergie AG shares represent an alternative form of investment.

All of us can choose between being part of the energy policy problem, or its solution. Reducing our dependency on fossil fuels is no longer a wish, but a necessity. And not only in order to achieve ambitious climate protection targets.

Austrian policymakers have also decided to accentuate the importance of renewable energy and to promote its use.

The 20-20-20 climate protection package

The European Union objective for 2020 foresees 20% renewable energy, a 20% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions and a 20% improvement in energy efficiency. For Austria, this means an increase in the share of renewable energy from 23.3% to 34% by 2020. We regard this as constituting a huge opportunity for massive expansion.

Strengthened by this comprehensive commitment on the part of the EU, we can and will increase our involvement. In general terms, the signs of the times point to a new energy future in Europe in which we will participate.

Our company is located in the “Waldviertel” eco-region

Since 2001, WEB Windenergie AG has constituted the largest employer in the district of Pfaffenschlag and in order to meet increasing demands, a new company headquarters building was erected in 2007.

The attribute “eco-enterprise” means that both our company and its personnel are constantly subject to stringent requirements with regard to environmental issues. Therefore, the new building, which offers sufficient space for both offices and the engineering departments, is both of contemporary and low energy design. Moreover, during the construction work a special emphasis was placed on the utilization of ecologically acceptable building materials.

100% electricity from renewable energy sources

The electrical energy from the sockets in the W.E.B headquarters building originates indirectly from the company’s own wind power plants, as WEB Windenergie AG only employs eco-electricity obtained from oekostrom AG, a company in which it is a stockholder. In addition, the electricity required by the wind power plants is also supplied by oekostrom AG.
